NRSWA Unit O1 Streetworks Course in Dorset (SLG)

Streetworks operatives who are responsible for planning and setting out signing, lighting and guarding (SLG) on local sites can obtain the certification they need by attending our 1-day NRSWA Unit O1 Streetworks Course in Dorset. Covering all the practical and theoretical knowledge an operative needs to perform physical SLG duties on streetworks sites, this course is delivered by fully experienced and qualified instructors who know how to ensure the highest pass rates possible for all demographics.

Although the course only takes a day to complete, attendees cover a lot of ground during this time, including all the following key topics:

  • Streetworks Regulations and Standards – The relevant regulations and standards, as outlined in the NRSWA Act (1991) are covered in detail to ensure they are understood and remembered.
  • SLG Workers Key Responsibilities – It is, of course, vital for all operatives to understand what they will be expected to do when setting out and removing SLG equipment on streetworks sites in Dorset and elsewhere.
  • Risk Assessment – Learning how to assess individual sites for risks is one of the core skills that is taught during the NRSWA Unit O1 Streetworks course.
  • Risk Mitigation – After learning how to assess active sites for risks, attendees discover how to address the risks that they identify.
  • Equipment Selection – Selecting the right SLG equipment is a crucial task and one that our instructors cover in depth during the course.
  • Setting Up of SLG – After internalising the correct sequence for setting up SLG equipment, attendees will know how to tackle the job quickly and efficiently on all types of streetworks sites.
  • Removal of SLG – Learning how to decommission and remove SLG equipment safely and efficiently is one of the last topics covered but no less important than any that precede it.
