We provide NRSWA Streetworks courses for broadband contractors, fibre installation companies, civils teams and subcontractors working on the expansion and maintenance of communications networks.

The 5-day NRSWA Supervisor course is for those responsible for supervising and monitoring Streetworks activities. It covers the supervision of work including excavation, reinstatement and signing, lighting and guarding, making it suitable for supervisors overseeing broadband and fibre civils teams.
Unit LA – Cat & Genny
NRSWA Unit LA covers the location and avoidance of underground apparatus. Broadband contractors carrying out excavation may be working close to existing electricity, gas, water and communications infrastructure, making the ability to identify and avoid underground services an important part of safe working.
Unit O1 – Signing, Lighting & Guarding
Unit O1 is the operative qualification for signing, lighting and guarding. It is intended for operatives responsible for setting out and maintaining signs, cones, barriers and other temporary traffic-management arrangements required for Streetworks.
Unit S1 – Monitoring Signing, Lighting & Guarding
Unit S1 is the corresponding supervisor qualification. It is designed for those responsible for monitoring signing, lighting and guarding arrangements and ensuring the work is appropriately supervised.
NRSWA Reassessment
NRSWA Streetworks qualifications are valid for five years. We provide reassessment courses for broadband contractors whose existing qualifications are approaching expiry, helping operatives and supervisors renew the relevant units and maintain their Streetworks qualifications.

Yes. Unit LA (previously known as unit 1) is for both Streetworks operatives and supervisors working on the roads, they do not require a separate qualification.
The NRSWA Streetworks Unit LA is specifically for those who need to located underground apparatus whilst working on the UK roads and highways. It is a key unit which you need if you intend to qualify in any of the Streetworks excavation and reinstatement units.
