5-Day NRSWA Supervisor Streetworks Course in Slough

Take the Streetworks Supervisor Course in Slough.

NRSWA Supervisor Streetworks Course in Slough

The role of the Streetworks Supervisor is one of significant responsibility. As such anyone aspiring to supervise the works on local authority roads in the UK needs to be properly certified in accordance with the New Roads and Street Works Act of 1991. Our NRSWA Supervisor Streetworks course in Slough will provide the theoretical and practical training necessary to perform Supervisory work in a safe and effective fashion. Motorists, commercial drivers, emergency services, pedestrians and more rely on the safety and viability of UK roads. That safety and viability is determined in large part by the expertise of the Operatives and especially the Supervisors who monitor the execution of work on public roadways. Anyone aspiring to become a Streetworks Supervisor will need to obtain certification. Our Supervisor Streetworks course is the pathway to that certification.

This 5-day course is recommended for anyone whose job requires them to supervise road work projects for private contractors, local authorities or public utilities. This course covers everything from identifying underground hazards to reinstatement, and everything in between. Keep in mind that a Supervisor does not perform manual labour on a job site. So if your job description calls for physical work you will need to take the Operatives Streetworks course instead.
Over the course of 5-days participants will engage in a combination of classwork and practical, hands-on activities designed to enable them to obtain Supervisory certification. At the conclusion of the course, they will be required to take a 20-question, multiple-choice exam. In order to obtain certification they will need to answer at least 16 of the 20 questions, or 80%, correctly.
Those who successfully complete the course will receive certification from City & Guilds, Lantra, the SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority) or the Certification and Assessment Board for the Water Industry (CABWI). Certification will be valid for 5 years. They will also received their phyical SWQR photo ID card (or NRSWA ticket), detailing the units they hold, also valid for a full 5 years.

No, there would need to be a streetworks operative on the site carrying out the physical work.

There are no beginner units. Each unit delivers something different. If you have no experience, there are books you can read prior to a course or if you can get some practical work experience with a company that would benefit you greatly.

If you require supervisor units - while the operative units are not compulsory – gaining the operatives units first and doing the physical works can be of help.
