NRSWA Streetworks Supervisor Training Courses 5 days

NRSWA Streetworks Course Nottingham

Nottingham Supervisor Streetworks 5 days

The NRSWA Supervisor Nottingham course is designed to provide Supervisors with the additional training they need to take their career to the next level. Our course provides the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure all excavation and reinstatement work is performed in accordance with the guidelines established by the New Roads and Street Works Act of 1991, while also adhering to industry best practices as enunciated by the Approved Codes of Practice (ACOPs).

Who is the course for
Roadwork Supervisors have a responsibility to ensure Operatives are performing their work in accordance with NRSWA guidelines. But not all Supervisors have the necessary training. If you have not yet gained your NRSWA Supervisor certification this course is for you. Upon completion, you will have an authoritative command of the facts and be able to effectively monitor even the most complex job site to ensure NRSWA compliance.

The full 5 day NRSWA Supervisor course in Nottingham is for anyone supervising all works on the road, including excavation, backfill, reinstatement and signing and guarding. A streetworks Supervisor plans, monitors and supervises the works and the operatives. The Supervisor does not undertake any physical works.

Delivery
The course is delivered through a combination of classroom learning and practical activities over 5 days. You will then be required to complete assessments and a timed short exam for each unit.

Outcome
After successful completion of the course you will be awarded a certificate from the awarding body, from one of the following; CABWI, SQA, Lantra or City and Guilds. You will then be registered on the Street Works Qualifications Register (SWQR), and you will receive your own SWQR ID card.

How long does the qualification last
Your certificate and card are valid for 5 years and will show the units you are qualified in to work on the roads.

Is the Supervisor Nottingham course really necessary?
Yes, if you are required to monitor works on the local authority roads, then you need to hold the SWQR blue Supervisor card, with the units relevant to the works you are supervising.

Are there prerequisites for the NRSWA Supervisor course?
There are two primary prerequisites. First, you must be an experienced Supervisor with the ability to perform work to SQA standards. And second, you must have a command of basic English. If you are not sure you satisfy these requirements, call us before you reserve a place in the Supervisor Nottingham class.

What type of assessment is conducted during the course?
Participants in the NRSWA Supervisor Nottingham course are continually assessed throughout the duration of the course. This assessment is typically conducted by way of simulated situations and practical exercises. In addition, at the end of each unit, there is a brief exam that must be passed before the candidate can advance to the next unit.

There are no beginner units. Each unit delivers something different. If you have no experience, there are books you can read prior to a course or if you can get some practical work experience with a company that would benefit you greatly.
