Once a participant has successfully completed this course and has been awarded the relevant certification, together with an SWQR ID card, he or she will be qualified to set up temporary signage, guardrails, cones and lighting on public highways in the UK where street works are being performed.
This is a 1-day course that includes both classroom-based learning and practical instruction. At the end of the course, all participants are required to take a brief online exam, in order to demonstrate their understanding of the theory and practical skills they have learned.
Each participant who is able to score 80% or higher on the final examination will be awarded certification from a recognised body (CABWI, SQA, Lantra or City and Guilds). They will also be issued with a SWQR ID card, which, as mentioned above, will enable them to work on public highways not only in Leicester but across the country.

The NRSWA Streetworks Unit LA is specifically for those who need to located underground apparatus whilst working on the UK roads and highways. It is a key unit which you need if you intend to qualify in any of the Streetworks excavation and reinstatement units.
