The NRSWA Streetworks course for operatives or supervisors; either initial NRSWA training or NRSWA reassessment, ensures all work on roads and infrastructure in the United Kingdom is carried out to a safe and high standard.
After successfully completing the NRSWA course the operative or supervisor will have the skills to carry out Streetworks to the standards required by the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991.
Outcome
After successful completion of the NRSWA training course candidates will be awarded a certificate and Streetworks card (SWQR card) valid for a full 5 years. This can then be renewed every 5 years with a NRSWA reassessment.
Candidates will be registered with CABWI, SQA, City&Guilds or the relevant awarding body and will receive certification. They will also receive a Streetworks card, which is a physical photo ID card, listing all units the candidate is qualified to work in and the expiry date.
Who is the course for
Anyone who is working on the local authority roads or supervising the works on these roads requires the SWQR card with the units relevant to the work they are doing. The works can include excavation, backfill, reinstatement, signing, guarding and using tarmac materials.
Delivery
The NRSWA training course is generally completed through a combination of practical assessments and classroom learning and a short online exam for each unit, led by one of our highly experienced and friendly trainers.
The NRSWA 1991 act requires that the qualifications held must be appropriate for the work being carried out.
Therefore, as well as the full 5 day operative, and 5 day supervisor NRSWA courses, we also offer single unit courses.
