The NRSWA Streetworks Unit O1 Signing, lighting and guarding course is for anyone who needs to physically put out the temporary signage, guards, cones and lights on the local authority roads. Previously known as Unit 2, and also referred to as SLG or NRSWA traffic management if a 1 day course.
The goal of the NRSWA Street Works Signing, Lighting and Guarding course is to ensure participants understand the safety implications involved with performing Street Works. Participants will develop an appreciation of the need to maintain the safe and free movement of vehicles and pedestrians through and around a job site, recognise conditions that may call for the use of special measures and demonstrate an understanding of the proper layout of SLG-related elements.
The 1 day course covers proper installation and maintenance of cones, barriers, road signs and traffic lights, as well as traffic and pedestrian management and proper sequencing during installation and removal of such elements.

The NRSWA Unit O1 Streetworks Course will be taught by one of our highly-trained and experienced instructors. Coursework will comprise a variety of theoretical and practical instruction. The instructor may use PowerPoint presentations, videos, printouts and other types of material and will continually assess each participant to ensure they are absorbing the information.
At the end of the day, you will need to take a multiple-choice exam with 20 questions. You will need to get 80%, or 16 of 20, correct in order to pass. Certification will be issued by Lantra, City & Guilds, CABWI or another authorised body and will be valid for 5 years from the date of issue.

The NRSWA Streetworks Unit LA is specifically for those who need to located underground apparatus whilst working on the UK roads and highways. It is a key unit which you need if you intend to qualify in any of the Streetworks excavation and reinstatement units.
