The NRSWA CAT & Genny course in Wallington is a 1-day course divided into morning and afternoon sessions. The morning session covers the theoretical aspects of CAT and Genny operation, while the afternoon session provides participants with a chance to get hands-on experience with actual CAT and Genny machines.
At the end of the afternoon session the instructor will administer a multiple-choice exam consisting of 20 questions. In order to pass the course and gain certification, participants must answer at least 16 of the 20 questions (80%) correctly. For those who pass, certification will be issued by one of the following licensing bodies:

  • SQA
  • CABWI
That certification will be valid for 5 years from the date of issue.
If, for any reason, a participant should fail to pass the test, they have the option to retake the course, but they will need to wait at least 48 hours before they re-register and they will have to pay a 2nd registration fee.
