There are no prerequisites for taking the NRSWA Unit 01 Streetworks course in West London although any familiarity with the CAT (Cable Avoidance Tool) would be advantageous. Again, however, it is not required. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will:
• Be able to locate, identify and track underground utility lines.
• Know how to operate the Cable Avoidance Tool (CAT) and related equipment.

• Have a comprehensive understanding of relevant health and safety regulations.

The NRSWA Unit 01 Streetworks course in West London will take place over the course of 1 full day. During the morning session, our highly-trained and experienced instructors will cover the theoretical ins and outs of working around underground hazards. While during the afternoon session, participants will have the opportunity to gain hands-on knowledge with essential equipment.
At the end of the day, there will be an exam testing your retention of the information imparted during the day. You must answer at least 16 of the 20 questions on the exam correctly in order to obtain certification. That certification will be valid for 5 years and issued by either City & Guilds, Lantra, the SQA or the CABWI.
If for whatever reason you fail the test you can take it again but you must wait at least 48 hours to re-register and you must pay the registration fee a second time.

The NRSWA Streetworks Unit LA is specifically for those who need to located underground apparatus whilst working on the UK roads and highways. It is a key unit which you need if you intend to qualify in any of the Streetworks excavation and reinstatement units.
