Signing, lighting and guarding (SLG) are essential elements of a safe and effective jobsite. But before someone can be authorized to set up SLG components they must receive proper certification. If signing, lighting and guarding are in your job description you can receive your certification by taking and passing this NRSWA Unit S1 Streetworks course in Merton.
This is a 1-day course consisting of two components. The first component covers the concepts of effective SLG installation and takes place in a classroom. The second component consists of hands-on lessons using actual SLG components and led by our highly-experienced instructors.
At the end of the day, there will be a multiple-choice exam consisting of 20 questions. In order to pass you must answer at least 16 of the 20 questions correctly. All those who pass will be awarded an NRSWA Unit S1 certificate issued by CABWI (Certification and Assessment Board for the Water Industry), SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority), City and Guilds or Lantra. The certificate will be valid for 5 years from the date of issue.

The NRSWA Streetworks Unit LA is specifically for those who need to located underground apparatus whilst working on the UK roads and highways. It is a key unit which you need if you intend to qualify in any of the Streetworks excavation and reinstatement units.
